Who manages the games

Established on 1 April 1985, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) is a Crown corporation of the province. It oversees lotteries, casinos and other gaming activities for British Columbia, from its head office at 74 West Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC, V2C 1E2, Canada.

Daily Grand itself is a national game. The numbers, the prize structure and the draw schedule are coordinated across provinces by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC). In B.C., supplemental conditions set by BCLC apply on top of the national game rules. Where the two ever disagree, the national ILC conditions take precedence.

Regulatory and legal framework

The Gaming Control Act (B.C.) governs gaming in the province. BCLC manages the games, while the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO) independently supervises their operation. Players must be B.C. residents aged at least 19 and physically present in the province.

How proceeds are distributed

British Columbia receives the net proceeds from provincial lotteries and gaming. These funds help support health services, community initiatives and other public programs, including contributions to eligible charitable and community organizations. Revenue raised in B.C. benefits the province.
